Headphones High Pitched Noise
It's been happening since today, when I work on the computer I occasionally start to hear a weird high-pitched sound which only occurs in the. Apr 02, 2014 MY headphones (Razer Carcharias) emit a high-pitched coil whine into my ears. It's quite subtle on the desktop, but as soon as I put my PC into load like when I launch a game, it becomes a squeal and is incessant and awful.
Posted byI've been looking for a solution on this subject for a while now and just wanted to share my experience with you.
No other EarBuds are as comfortable for me as the Apple EarPods that came with iPhone 5. When I use them connected to the DS4 controller on PS4, the sound quality is great. The problem is that the microphone emits a high pitch buzzing sound all the time. I have to lower the mic volume all the way down in the settings and can't use it for chat.
I've tried this CTIA to OMTP adapter to see if it will fix the buzzing noise issue It was the highest quality adapter with no cord I could find, but it does not fix the issue.
After testing it few times by plugging in, plugging out (and halfway in etc.) the DS4 controller hanged and had to restart the PS4 to make it turn off. I don't say it's the adapter's fault, but it's just not compatible to making the Apple EarPods mic to work with PS4.
High Pitched Noise From Computer
There is this other adapter that was also suggested on another Reddit post Although the poster of the video said that it emits a high pitch sound if used with any headphone with a mic. And it's missing a mic mute button, which I think is a must for online chat.Press release examples for ribbon cutting ceremony.
I don't know how they will sound or if they are comfortable, but I will let you know if you want.
Update: The PS Vita earphones arrived today in the mail. They catch the holiday season and mail needed over a month to arrive :)
They are not bad, the sound quality is ok and the microphone catches sounds from across the room. The on/off switch on the mic is a nice touch (funny, it works when it's OFF, and doesn't when it's ON when connected to DS4).
If you are used to the sound quality of EarPods, I have to be honest, they can't compare to the Apple EarPods. They are also not nearly as comfortable, (even though they do provide 3 sets of rubber cushions for different ear sizes, which is nice). The sound quality and the bass is just incredible on the Apple EarPods and can't compare to any other EarBud.
Also, for me, the EarPods are the most comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time without even feeling that they are there.
The PS Vita headset is a nice alternative when you need to use the mic for chat without the buzzing noise, though.
If you found any solution for the mic buzzing sound, please feel free to leave a comment below.
There are very few headphones fully compatible with the Mac OS - probably because the makers haven't provided suitable drivers for their products. This issue, not necessarily exactly the same symptom as you have, has cropped up before in these discussions. Check whether the package claims compatibility. If it does then you can start looking for reasons for the problem.
If it's a new Mac, is the headphone driver suitable for Leopard OS?
